Design context: docs/design/server-split.md + tracking issue seltzerhq/pecun#18 (the code lives here in nic/commons). (design section 12, P1 feature tier -- beyond P6's P0 set)

The next priority band of the best-in-class double-entry roadmap:

  • Budgets / envelopes (hledger --budget vs Ledger virtual postings).
  • Pending/cleared two-phase + available balance (TigerBeetle two-phase; Modern Treasury).
  • Attachments / receipts (Beancount document).
  • Effective vs entry/booking date -- bitemporal (Modern Treasury effective_at/posted_at).
  • Opening-balance pad automation (Beancount pad; Ledger balance assignment).
